Barcelona Faces Champions League Elimination as Home Favorite

FC Barcelona will be gunning for an eighth straight win on home turf in all competitions when it hosts Juventus this week in the second leg of their Champions League quarterfinal clash as a strong -210 favorite.

Barca dug itself a deep hole with a 3-0 loss last week at Juventus, marking its second straight match without a goal. The club responded with three first-half markers in Saturday’s 3-2 win over La Liga rival Real Sociedad as -450 chalk, and is now unbeaten in 18 straight outings at Cap Nou ahead of Wednesday’s matchup.

Bouncing back from lopsided defeats has become Barcelona’s trademark in the Champions League this season. The club responded to a 3-1 group stage loss to Manchester City with clean-sheet wins over Celtic and Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Barcelona also suffered a 4-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the Round of 16, but rebounded to hand PSG a 6-1 beating as -175 home chalk to clinch a quarterfinal berth.

Juventus has scored seven total goals while holding opponents scoreless during a three-match winning streak, and is unbeaten on the road this season in Champions League action, going 4-0-0 while outscoring opponents by a 10-1 overall margin.

On Tuesday, Real Madrid looks to continue its dominance over Bayern Munich in Champions League matchups when it plays host to the Bavarians in the second leg of their quarterfinal as narrow +130 home chalk.

Los Blancos have beaten Bayern Munich in four straight UCL meetings, outscoring Bayern by a 9-3 margin, including last week’s 2-1 win as +300 road underdogs, and are 7-1-2 in their past 10 Champions League dates with their Bavarian rivals.

Bayern has picked up wins in just three of its past nine UCL road matches, and has also been limited to just one total goal in its past three Bundesliga road contests.

In other Champions League action this week, Borussia Dortmund visits Monaco as a +125 favorite, while Atletico Madrid takes on Leicester City as +105 road chalk.

Shaken by an explosion that rocked the team’s bus prior to last Tuesday’s scheduled first-leg matchup, Dortmund eventually dropped a 3-2 decision to Monaco as a -164 home favorite on Wednesday, but recovered to record a 3-1 Bundesliga win over Eintracht Frankfurt as -250 home chalk on Saturday.

Leicester has not surrendered a goal in three straight home wins, and is unbeaten in three all-time home dates with Atletico, which is 4-2-4 in its past 10 UCL road matches.
