Cotton Bowl Matchup Ohio State Favoured over Trojans - Bodog Sports

College Football: We’re Bowling

With the college football regular season behind us, it’s time to look forward to Bowl Season. The playoff games aren’t played until the New Year, but there are plenty of other exciting bowls this month. As usual, Bodog has you covered with all the bowl game odds, including the college football playoff odds, so make sure to check out all of the postseason lines. Let’s dig into the committee bowl game previews. No national championship contention for these teams ranked 5 through 12, but there’s pride on the line.

Cotton Bowl

(5) Ohio State Buckeyes vs (8) USC Trojans

Favourite: Ohio State -7

Perhaps the most anticipated bowl game outside of the playoff tilts will be held at Jerry World on December 29. The Cotton Bowl odds favour fifth-ranked Ohio State by a touchdown, but the Trojans should be ready to give the Buckeyes all they’ve got in this battle of conference champions.

With both teams featuring two of the top quarterbacks in all of college football, JT Barrett for Ohio State and Sam Darnold for USC, this should be a fun game to watch. The points total is set at 65 points, so sit back and enjoy the show.

Orange Bowl

(6) Wisconsin Badgers vs (10) Miami Hurricanes

Favourite: Wisconsin -7

Playing host to the Wisconsin Badgers on December 30 in the Orange Bowl, the Miami Hurricanes are looking to snap a two-game losing streak that ended their regular season. Had they defeated Clemson in the ACC Championship, they would’ve been playing on New Year’s Day in the playoff.

Similarly, Wisconsin suffered their only loss of the season in the Big 10 Championship to Ohio State. Will the teams be motivated to get past their heart-breaking losses in the conference championships or will they come out flat as a result?

Fiesta Bowl

(9) Penn State Nittany Lions vs (11) Washington Huskies

Favourite: Penn State -3

If you want quality football, look no further than the Fiesta Bowl, which features Penn State taking on Washington in Glendale, Arizona on December 30. Both of these teams were ranked in the top five for points during the 2017 season, and for good reason.

Finishing the regular season in the top six in terms of margin of victory, both teams have been dominant in most of their 2017 contests. Penn State is laying down three points to the Huskies, but this promises to be a very close game.

Peach Bowl

(7) Auburn Tigers vs (12) UCF Knights

Favourite: Auburn -10

What a season for both Peach Bowl invitees. Right up until the SEC Championship game, it looked like Auburn was the best team in all of college football. The UCF Knights went undefeated in 2017, blowing out their opponents by 24.2 points per game on average, which allowed head coach Scott Frost to receive and accept a job offer with the Nebraska Huskers. In a classy move, Frost will return to UCF to coach one more game for his beloved Knights in the Peach Bowl.
