Streaking Lazio visits Roma as underdog on Serie A odds
SS Lazio will be trying to keep pace with first-place SSC Napoli on the Serie A table as they vie for a seventh straight win in league action when they visit AS Roma on Saturday as +200 underdogs on the betting lines.
The Biancocelesti are coming off a 5-1 victory over Benevento as -357 road favorites in their last Serie A outing to improve to 9-1-1 on the season and remain just four points back of Napoli ahead of Saturday’s matchup at Stadio Olimpico.
Lazio has been dominant since closing out last season with three straight losses to finish fifth on the Serie A table. The Biancocelesti enjoy an impressive 14-1-1 run across all competitions, with their lone defeat coming against Napoli on September 20, a 4-1 loss as +195 home underdogs.
The club has not surrendered more than a goal per game during a nine-match surge since that loss, outscoring opponents by a 27-5 margin, capped by a 1-0 win over OGC Nice on November 2 in UEFA Europa League action.
The Giallorossi have also impressed of late, keeping clean sheets on four occasions during a five-match win streak across all competitions, and take on Lazio as +130 home chalk. Roma had a three-match shutout streak on home turf end with the club’s 4-2 win over Fiorentina, marking the first time it has allowed more than one goal in a league match since dropping a 3-1 decision to Inter Milan as +130 chalk on August 26.
Overall, Roma remains just one point back of Lazio on the league table with a 9-0-2 record, but has seen its Serie A odds tumble to +1600 after opening the campaign at +800. Lazio has also slipped on the league futures to +3300, but tallied a 3-1 win in its last clash with Roma on April 30.
Later on Saturday, Napoli will try to halt a two-match winless slide across all competitions as it hosts AC Milan as heavy -225 chalk.
The Azzurri have sputtered since opening the league campaign on an 8-0-0 run. Napoli remains undefeated with a 10-2-0 record, but is a middling 2-2-2 its past six overall, and now trails Juventus on the Serie A championship odds as a +110 bet.
AC Milan is coming off a 2-0 win over Sassuolo on November 5, but is just 2-3-3 in its past eight overall, and has tallied just one win in 12 meetings with Napoli dating back to 2011.
In other Serie A betting action this weekend, Juventus visits Sampdoria as -185 chalk, while Sassuolo takes on Benevento as a +105 road favorite.
